BEAUTIFUL BONES

The  Female Study

    A study of the female form conveys the beauty and the simple complexity of human beings. Although this body looks somewhat out of proportion, i assure you she is not.
     The model ( a reference from an online site) is anorexic. Although her form seems graceful and beautiful it might be a burden she will have to carry with herself throughout her life. She might be looking in the direction of a coma or a cardiac arrest that can kill her. I feel almost a little shame for wanting to use her as a reference becuase of the severity of eating disorders.
     I'm not trying to rag on about anorexia or bulimia, but whether it is immoral to put a women or a man with image problems  naked on a platform to model for us and our own benefits. Personally i do not think it is immoral. As an artist it is not my job to criticize what i see, my job is JUST to see, to observe, and to translate my vision through medium and through emotion.
    However the recruitment of fashion models is a whole different subject, and frankly i'm disgusted with the fashion world
   

yet another experiment with oil pastels. 

while im brainstorming for ideas on where to go with my painting i have been experimenting with oil pastels (top picture) and trying out manga techniques with ink (bottom picture, and yes, they are both boys,)
    Usually my art isnt quite as abstract as the top picture but i was inspired by Picasso who went from classic oil painting techniques that we see in a lot of older paintings, to a more almost childish perspective of art. I wanted to take on this technique and directly show raw emotion that i do not know how to convey otherwise.
     With the gay manga couple, to be honest i just had a lot of fun drawing that, and it was nice to take a break from the stiff rules and restriction that i put on myself and my art. It is a whole new look for me, and to be frank, i love the simplicity.

      As for the fact that they are both guys? hmmmm. excuse me for being crass but no one really gives a fuck, and its just kinda cute <3
